why do you smell like a french whore?

Lately I've been feeling lazy and tired. Over the weekend I went to go see Kate Nash Unplugged with my ghetto thug boo Naomi.
Naomi and I before the show.
we're much hotter in person. yeah we don't know how that's possible either...

We went on Friday which was National Day so traffic was fucking hell. I was freaking out because I hated everyone that was annoying me. I got sprayed with some water gun, some bitch sprayed my hair with soap/foam (but that was after the concert but still, WHO DOES THAT?!). So basically the set started off with some unknown guy and his two unknown friends, and Naomi and I could of cared less. His music was bland and irrelevant, I did some of his lyrics and his female backup singer. So fast forward and Kate comes on with her drummer Fern and guitarist Carmen.
This was the initial view we had. It was a pretty chill atmosphere.
Around her second song she asked why everyone was so far away. (Basically all the cheap seats were in the back and Naomi and I sat at the very last row.) So then she asked whoever wanted to, to come up to the front of the stage (Where all of the VIP tables were. Those tickets cost about 3,000 AED). So then we were pretty much at her feet and sharing the same air.
See how close we are?!?!
Kate came out with this giant bow and this dress that resembled the UAE flag. She swore it was just a coincidence and after some research when Naomi and I got home we found out she's been wearing this dress for her whole tour. OUTFIT REPEATER.
LOOK! KATE AND I ARE BESTIES!
I told you i'm extremely attractive
She was singing to me. Her guitarist and I had some really sexual eye contact. After she finished her set I stole the set-list off of the stage. I would scan it because it's just purely hilarious, but my scanner is being silly. I don't know what else to particularly add to this post so I think I'll just add more tomorrow.

you're a virgin who can't drive.

I feel like my posts need to be more colorful... black and white is alluring yet it can get a little stale a little too quickly. I've realized I'm too negative and some friends agree so to try to change that I think I'll post some happy things.
Best Coast - Crazy For You
Spice Girls - Wannabe
Amy Winehouse - The Girl From Ipanema

The Drums - Lets Go Surfing

There's something about Amy Winehouse's that mesmerizes me. She will remain to be one of my all time favorites. The Spice Girls always cheer me up and bring me back to when I was young and life seemed a whole lot simpler especially when you were only in the 1st grade. Best Coast is a great semi new band that makes me think of summers at the shore. The Drums make me want to jump around and act like a fool. Now for some pretty pictures.

(I do not claim ownership to any of these photos)

So I guess my very obvious theme would be bright colors, happy go lucky, and Summer. Today I got a pink blow up cat. Any name suggestions would be highly appreciated. Here's a picture of us together. We make such a cute couple.

Sometimes I look at Marilyn and wonder... "Why?"

I still don't know what exactly I want to use this blog for... maybe just an outlet. I don't think I'm going to really advertise this among all my facebook friends. Who really wants to know what's going on in my mind anyway. I still have doubts about this but I think i'll just continue so I can start to get my creative juices flowing. A while back I wrote down some things that inspire me so I guess that will be what I talk about here...
Beachwood Sparks - By Your Side
Bass Drum of Death - Heart Attack Kid
Amy Winehouse - Some Unholy War

Recently I've been listening to Amy Winehouse's Back To Black  album nonstop, I'm not even joking when I say that, I wish I was.  This post has no actual theme I would say so I'll let it slide but in the future I will have one....

the new beginning.

Okay, here I go... a fresh start a new blog. I never have much luck with these things but let's just hope that this works out. My friend Sara had started hers not too long ago and I have a few other friends on here. I actually have a few failed attempts of me trying to "blog" but I won't go much into detail. I mean I have a tumblr but that's mainly just photos I like. This just seems more intimate. I recently read a list of ways to keep yourself more creative and I liked it so I'll share them with you:
  1. make lists
  2. carry a notebook everywhere
  3. try free writing
  4. get away from the computer
  5. be otherworldly
  6. quit beating yourself up
  7. take breaks
  8. sing in the shower
  9. know your roots
  10. listen to new music
  11. be open
  12. surround yourself with creative people
  13. get feedback
  14. collaborate
  15. don't give up
  16. practice, practice, practice
  17. allow yourself to make mistakes
  18. go somewhere new
  19. watch foreign films
  20. count your blessings
  21. get lots of rest
  22. take risks
  23. break the rules
  24. do more of what makes you happy
  25. don't force it
  26. read a page from the dictionary
  27. create a framework
  28. stop trying to be someone else's perfect
  29. got an idea? write it down
  30. clean up your work space
  31. have fun
  32. finish something.
With that being said and me sitting here and thinking about it I have to work on a lot of these. I think I will take these into consideration much more often. I really hope I can use this blog as a learning experience and maybe even meet new people. I'm getting ahead of myself and I think i'm satisfied with this post. I'll add on more tomorrow. ~lex
